Lidaris

About the company

LIDARIS offers a wide range of Laser-Induced Damage Threshold (LIDT) metrology services for companies that manufacture, trade, or integrate laser optics. LIDT numbers describe the optical resistance (safe light intensity operation limit) of optical parts such as lenses, mirrors, windows, or similar optical elements with intended use in high-power laser systems. Testing is available at the CW-Nanosecond-Picosecond-Femtosecond regimes.

Leading Products

PCI Absorptance Test

The PCI-based low-loss absorptance testing in dielectric coatings at ppm level. PCI is Photothermal Common-path Interferometry.

“Classical” Lifetime Test

Accelerated lifetime testing of femtosecond and picosecond optics. It provides the opportunity to predict optics behavior for a few years.

Raster scan LIDT test

Testing procedure, which helps to detect rare defects, which could be missed by applying standard S-on-1 test. It characterizes the worst-case scenario when it comes to large optics and defect-driven damage.

R-on-1 LIDT test

R(amp)-on -1 testing protocol provides preliminary information about the LIDT of the surface-limited samples (e.g. fibers, small crystals). It is also used to investigate the conditioning effect.

ISO LIDT Certification Test (21254-1,3)

This technique helps to separate good and bad optics when end-use irradiation conditions are known. The procedure is fast and non-destructive for good optical elements.

ISO S-on-1 LIDT test (21254-1,2)

The most common LIDT test. It is a multipulse procedure, which considers optics aging (fatigue) effects.
